Statement from the River Ridge management company
The entire management family extends its utmost sympathy and prayers to the family and friends of Jorelys Rivera and all the residents of River Ridge apartments in Canton, Georgia.
Our local property support staff at River Ridge is providing all possible assistance to investigators. We are supporting and working with the community residents in response to this tragedy. We have initiated a process of employee and residence assistance which includes independent professional counseling and related support.
River Ridge, like all properties we manage, receives regular outside evaluations and reviews for management practices. The River Ridge property has consistently received high marks in these independent reviews. It is our policy that all residents and all employees undergo and clear criminal background checks, including screens for sex offender registries, prior to employment or residence approval.
We are focusing our immediate attentions on supporting authorities in their investigation and addressing the needs of our residents and local staff. We are communicating regularly with the property owner, local property management staff and residents and will be reviewing and addressing any and all issues which arise from this tragedy. We are working closely with the owner of the River Ridge Apartments to communicate with and listen to the residents in this community and we are committed to continual improvements in our efforts. When we have any additional information to share, in coordination with authorities and our local residents, we will do so.
